Open Your Home.

Make the Music Possible.

Our musicians travel from across Florida to perform with your SCSO — and each concert weekend, eight to ten visiting artists need a welcoming place to stay. Every host home helps make the music possible.

By opening your home for just a few evenings, you help your Symphony save more than $50,000 each season, support the musicians who bring our concerts to life, and create personal connections that often last long after the final note.

A Simple Gift With a Powerful Impact

Your hospitality makes their visit possible. By offering a clean, comfortable place to stay for a few evenings around concert time, you help your Symphony put more resources directly into the music, the musicians, and the community we serve.

But the impact goes far beyond dollars. Many hosts tell us that “their” musicians quickly become friends. A spare room can become the start of a lasting connection.

Thank you for opening your home — and your heart.

What Hosting Looks Like

Hosting is simple. Most musicians need a clean, comfortable place to sleep during rehearsal and concert weekends — some for one night, others for two or three evenings. You do not need to entertain, provide transportation, or create anything elaborate.

  • A private bedroom or comfortable guest space
  • Access to a bathroom
  • A safe, welcoming home environment
  • Basic communication about arrival and departure times
  • Optional hospitality — coffee, breakfast, or conversation if you wish
  • No formal entertaining required

Being a host family is an experience that is both rewarding and enriching. I’d love to share just a few of the highlights over the past year. Meeting a young violinist, Danut and his Dad who came all the way from Romania. Learning about the newest innovations in music notation software with John. Sitting in on a music lesson given by an outstanding teacher, William. Having a private horn concert in our living room by Jennifer. Sipping wine at midnight with the always charming violist, Juan Carlos. Diversity is a treasure and music, the international language of love. Thank you, SCSO, for giving us the opportunity to spread that love and call all these wonderful musicians our friends.
