Every masterpiece in the repertoire
was once a world premiere.
Your orchestra believes that experience shouldn’t
belong only to history. We perform and commission the
composers working right now, so the first time anyone
hears a piece, it happens here — with you in the hall.

Why new music matters
It keeps the art form growing.
New music doesn’t replace the classics. It recharges them.
A piece written this year, sitting on the same program as a symphony written two centuries ago, lets you hear both differently. The old one stops being furniture. The new one has something to stand against.
That’s an art form still being made, not one kept behind glass. And many of the composers we champion call Florida home.
Eighteen seasons of championing composers
From Pulitzer winners to first premieres.
Some you’ll know from the concert hall. Some from the movies. Some had never heard an orchestra play their music until we did.
