By performing and commissioning today’s brightest composers, we bring fresh, exhilarating sounds to life in our concert halls, with roughly thirty percent of our performances featuring works by living composers — including many who call Florida home.

New music doesn’t replace the classics; it recharges them. Hearing a piece written this year beside a symphony written two centuries ago lets you hear both differently — and it means the art form keeps growing right here, in our community, with our audiences in the room where it happens. Over seventeen seasons, that commitment has included championing composers from every background, with works by Black, Indigenous, and People of Color composers making up fifteen percent of our programming.
