Before You Go

Online at spacecoastsymphony.org, by phone at (855) 252-7276, or at the door before any performance. And remember — ages 18 and under and all college students always attend free.

Whatever makes you comfortable. You’ll see everything from shorts to ball gowns, with most people landing somewhere around business casual. There’s no dress code, and nobody’s checking.

Plan on 20–30 minutes before the concert begins. Picking up tickets at Will Call? Make it 30. If you arrive after the music starts, our ushers will seat you at the next appropriate pause — it’s a kindness to the listeners already in their seats.

At the Concert

We’re your symphony for everyone, and we mean it. Clap whenever the spirit moves you. Laugh, cry, gasp, cheer. Get swept up — that’s the whole point. A great performance should move you, not sit you still, and we build every concert with that in mind. If you’ve ever felt like the symphony wasn’t for you, come see us. It is.

Not for a second — you’re exactly who these concerts are for. There’s nothing to study, no etiquette exam, and no wrong way to enjoy an SCSO concert. Come as you are, lean in, react out loud, and let the orchestra do the rest. If you’re unsure about anything, an usher will be happy to help.

Not even close. A single season with your orchestra can run from symphonic masterworks to film music, Broadway, holiday favorites, and brand-new works by living composers. Browse any concert page to hear what you’re in for.

Whenever the music moves you. At most orchestras, tradition says hold your applause between movements. We’re not most orchestras. If a movement ends and you’re bursting, burst. If a soloist just gave you chills, let them hear about it. Music is meant to be felt out loud, and nothing makes our musicians happier than an audience that can’t contain itself.

Please take a moment to silence your phone and any watch alarms before the performance begins. Nobody wants to be that person.

Cameras and recording equipment aren’t permitted during performances unless permission is granted in advance.

At most events you’ll find concessions and bottled water in the main lobby. Our venues don’t currently sell alcohol.

Fighting a cold? Natural herb cough drops are available in the lobby — grab a few on your way in.

Program notes are in the program book our ushers hand you at the door. For select performances, you’ll also find notes, audio samples, and other listening guides on the concert’s page on our website.

The Fine Print

Please do — we mean it. Children 18 and under are admitted free to all performances, and so are college students. It’s one of the things we’re proudest of.

Single ticket sales for non-subscribers are final, but if you’ll miss a performance you can donate your ticket back to the orchestra and receive a donation receipt — just call (855) 252-7276 as soon as you know. Flex tickets are good for any subscription performance.

All of our performance venues meet the criteria established by the Americans with Disabilities Act. Just let us know what you need when purchasing tickets and we’ll take care of it. We always welcome feedback on how we can serve you better.

All performance facilities are smoke-free buildings. Smoking is permitted in designated areas outside.
