
Alexis Regazzi
Principal Trombone
Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Alexis (Alex) Regazzi was raised in Orlando and began playing trombone at the age of 12. After graduating from Dr. Phillips High School, Alex earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Performance from the Manhattan School of Music. He is active as a performer, soloist, and clinician, and has created an online collection of piano accompaniments for the trombone literature that is used as a resource for trombonists around the world.
In addition to being Principal Trombone of your Space Coast Symphony, Alex has performed with The Florida Orchestra, Chelsea Symphony, Garden State Philharmonic, Philharmonic Orchestra of the Americas, Florida Lyric Opera, Huntsville Symphony, Orlando Contemporary Chamber Orchestra, South Florida Symphony, Hollywood Festival Orchestra,, Brevard Symphony Orchestra, Bach Festival Society Orchestra, The Brass Band of Central Florida, and the Disney Candlelight Orchestra. Prior to becoming a core member, Alex had served as a substitute musician for the Orlando Philharmonic since 2016.

Thomas McKee
Trombone
Originally from Pearland, Texas, Thomas McKee began his musical journey at Pearland High School, where he studied under freelance trombonist Brian Logan. During this time, he discovered a deep passion for performing and soon earned a position in the Houston Youth Symphony’s top orchestra, where he performed for two years. He also attended the Texas Music Festival’s Summer Jazz Big Band Camp for two consecutive seasons, appearing as a featured soloist both years.
In his senior year, Thomas achieved distinction as a member of the Texas All-State Philharmonic Orchestra through the TMEA competition—an experience that solidified his commitment to pursuing music at a higher level.
Thomas went on to study at Louisiana State University, where he worked under the guidance of Steve Menard and Dr. Hana Beloglavec. His time at LSU was marked by a wide range of performance experiences, including appearances as a soloist with the LSU Jazz Lab Band alongside acclaimed jazz trombonist Wycliffe Gordon, tours with the LSU Wind Ensemble across Louisiana and Texas, and teaching a high school master class during the Stately Oaks Wind Camp. One of his highlights was performing as a featured soloist with the LSU Jazz Ensemble on Duke Ellington’s Blue Cellophane.
Outside of his academic career, Thomas built a diverse professional portfolio performing as a substitute trombonist with both the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra and the Acadiana Symphony Orchestra of Lafayette. He also performed extensively with several live bands, including After 8, Boucoup Boogie, and Souled Out, appearing in venues across southern Louisiana and developing a reputation for his musical versatility and engaging stage presence.

Joseph Ash
Trombone
A native of Merritt Island, Florida, Joseph Ash is a trombonist whose musicianship reflects a deep respect for collaboration, craftsmanship, and continual growth. His passion for music began at the age of five after being captivated by the film Drumline, sparking a lifelong fascination with rhythm, sound, and the shared experience of performance.
Joseph performs as Second Trombone with the Space Coast Symphony Orchestra and regularly appears with The Historic Cocoa Village Playhouse. His previous performances include engagements with the Melbourne Community Orchestra, the Brevard Brass Choir, and the Brevard Trombone Choir, where he values the camaraderie and connection that come from ensemble playing.
In addition to his performing career, Joseph assists with music instruction at Eastern Florida State College, working alongside Jon Oxford to support developing musicians in ensemble and brass studies. He is also part of the team at Warburton Music Products, helping manufacture mouthpieces for brass instruments—a role that deepens his understanding of the technical artistry behind performance.
Joseph draws inspiration from the music of Dmitri Shostakovich, particularly Symphony No. 5, which he admires for its emotional honesty and resilience. Among his most meaningful performances are the David Trombone Concerto and Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake, each offering opportunities for reflection and artistic growth.
Currently, Joseph is dedicating time to refining his performance skills while pausing formal studies in music education. He credits his work with the Space Coast Symphony Orchestra as an invaluable part of that process, providing both mentorship and an environment that encourages continual artistic development.
Fun Fact: Standing 6’7″, Joseph brings quiet presence both on and off the stage—and when he’s not performing, he enjoys relaxing over a favorite meal of hibachi.

Ian Schwindt
Trombone
Ian Schwindt teaches instrumental music at Titusville High School (THS) where he has served for the last 22 years. During his tenure, the program has doubled in size and significantly expanded its musical offerings to include a full orchestra, AP music theory, and an active chamber ensemble program. Through these years THS has been named a Music Demonstration School twice and a Model Arts School by the State of Florida, and has earned multiple FMEA enrollment awards. Titusville ensembles consistently earn Superiors at MPAs and have performed at the FMEA President’s Concert and the Stetson Invitational.
Ian has served as the conductor of the Brevard County Youth Orchestra Symphony and Symphony director for the Creative Young Artists. He also conducts Melodies and Masterpieces each year. Ian remains active as a clinician and adjudicator for both FBA and FOA across the state. He regularly conducts many select ensembles including the Florida State University Summer Music Camps, Honor Bands in Tennessee and All-County groups state-wide.
Ian serves in several school and district leadership positions including Department Chair, Brevard County Music Leadership Team and the Brevard County Music Advisory Board. He was elected to serve two terms as FBA District Chairman as well as being appointed as the All-State chair for six years and as a board member of the FSMA and FMEA state board for four years. He is currently serving as the president of the Florida Bandmasters Association.
As a trombonist, Ian stays active playing with multiple central Florida ensembles including Central Florida Winds, Central Florida Brass Band, Southern Winds, Hot Pink and multiple church orchestras. He also keeps an active trombone studio. Ian’s students have gained entry to multiple all-county and all-state groups as well as prestigious universities including Julliard, New England Conservatory of Music, San Francisco Conservatory, Curtis Institute of Music, Cleveland Institute of Music, Yale, Florida State University, University of South Florida and Stetson.
Ian’s awards include being named the 2016-2017 Florida Music Education Association Secondary Music Educator of the year, 2020 Bandworld Legion of Honor Award Winner, National Band Association Citation for Excellence, the FBA Oliver Hobbs Award, the FBA Tom Bishop award, and Titusville High School Teacher of the Year. Ian’s professional affiliations include FMEA, FBA, FOA and Phi Beta Mu.

David Martinez
Trombone
David Martinez is a devoted and emerging musician from Titusville, Florida. A graduate of Titusville High School, he began his formal training under the mentorship of esteemed music educator Ian Schwindt, whose guidance helped lay a strong foundation for his musical development. David is currently pursuing studies in music at Eastern Florida State College, where he works closely with professors Eric Lee, Jon Oxford, and ChanJi Kim. His academic pursuits reflect a strong dedication to both performance and the broader study of music as an evolving art form.
Deeply engaged in the Central Florida and East Coast music communities, Mr. Martinez performs regularly with a diverse range of ensembles throughout the region. His experience spans multiple genres and performance settings, from classical and chamber works to jazz and contemporary collaborations. Known for his versatility, professionalism, and commitment to musical excellence, he continues to build a reputation as a thoughtful and dynamic performer.
In 2025, Mr. Martinez was selected to participate in the Brevard Music Jazz Institute Camp, where he studied under the guidance of renowned artists and educators including Altin Sencalar, Michael Dease, and Chris Glassman. This intensive program offered valuable opportunities for artistic growth and collaboration with peers and mentors from across the country, enriching his approach to interpretation, improvisation, and ensemble performance.
Mr. Martinez remains steadfast in his pursuit of artistic refinement, actively seeking opportunities to perform, collaborate, and share his passion for music with audiences throughout Florida. His ongoing contributions to the musical community reflect both his personal dedication and his belief in the transformative power of music.

Eric Lee aka EricofTuba
Principal Tuba
A native of Indiana, Eric received his Bachelor of Music Education degree from Northwestern University and his Master of Music degree from DePaul University. He was a student of the late Arnold Jacobs and Robert Rusk. He has a wide variety of musical experience both in the Chicagoland area and in California, where he had lived for over twelve years. He was a member of the Evanston and Waukegan Symphonies, the Lakeside Band, the Northwest Indiana Symphony and the Illinois Philharmonic, and is a founding member of the famed Lakeshore Brass. While in California he was in the San Jose Wind Symphony, the Redwood Symphony, and the Livermore Opera Orchestra and had performed with the now defunct Sacramento Symphony.
Now in Florida, Eric lives in beautiful Merritt Island with his wonderful Labrador, Abigail. He is a founding member of the Space Coast Symphony Orchestra and was its President for nine years. He also performs with the Florida Lakes Symphony Orchestra, Orlando Symphony, Melbourne Community Orchestra, Central Florida Winds, the Dog Bones, the Festspeile Five, the Coastal Brass, and a variety of other groups. He is also the Trombone and Tuba teacher at Eastern Florida State College and at Seminole State College.
