Lisa Waite

Principal Bassoon

Lisa is from Ormond Beach, Florida.  She began her early years on bassoon with Reno Fusani of Buffalo, NY, later studied with Dr. Ashley Heintzen at Stetson University in Deland, FL as a music scholarship recipient, and collaborated briefly with Terry Ewell of the Mid-Atlantic Symphony, Baltimore, MD. In addition to performing with the Space Coast Symphony, Lisa is a member of the Forza Wind Symphony, is a founding member of the professional woodwind quintet Opus 5, and is the executive director of Arts for Humanity, a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing musical interventions to the underserved.  She is also an active free-lancer and has performed on bassoon and contrabassoon with the Orlando Symphony, Florida Lakes Symphony, Charlotte Symphony, Bach Festival Orchestra of Winter Park, Brevard Symphony, and the Orlando Philharmonic, as well as with various other groups throughout Central Florida, of which she is a member of Local 389. On the flip-side, Lisa has a Doctorate in Pharmacy and practices as a community care pharmacist in Volusia County. When she is not working in the pharmacy or pursuing her music endeavors, Lisa enjoys spending time with her husband Jonathan and their 3 neurotic cats, preferably on the road in their Winnebago Rialta, affectionately known as “RaRa”.

Emily Bartlett

Bassoon

Emily began performing with Space Coast Symphony Orchestra in 2017 on The Planets concert and has been with the orchestra ever since. Growing up in Seminole County, Emily was highly involved in band. She gained critical experiences during grade school with private lessons from Space Coast musician Lisa Waite, attended multiple summers of coaching with Stetson University’s Double Reed camp, and performed in the Florida Symphony Youth Orchestra. She attended Florida State University and received a Bachelor of Arts in Music (2014) under the instruction of Jeffrey Keesecker performing in both Concert and World Music Ensembles.

In addition to performing with the Space Coast Symphony, Emily is a freelance musician. She performs with groups in Central Florida and surrounding areas. In 2020 and 2023 she toured with the New York Gilbert and Sullivan Players in their Southeast tours of The Pirates of Penzance and The Mikado. Emily is also a member of the International Double Reed Society (IDRS) and most recently attended their 2024 conference in Flagstaff, Arizona.

Outside of music, Emily keeps busy with an office support job. She enjoys solo traveling, visiting National Parks, and the therapeutic benefits of baking.

Angela Moretti

Bassoon

Hailing from Vero Beach, Florida, Angela Moretti is an active performer and educator in the greater San Antonio area. She currently serves as the Adjunct Instructor of Bassoon at Texas Lutheran University. Angela performs with several local ensembles, maintains a large private studio, and sells bassoon reeds professionally. 

Prior to her appointment at Texas Lutheran University, Angela served in the U.S. Army as a member of the 8th Army Band in Pyeongtaek, South Korea and the 323rd Army Band in San Antonio. During her brief time in Texas, she has performed with the Symphony of the Hills, SA Harmonie, the Corpus Christi Symphony Orchestra, the South Texas Symphonic Orchestra, and the Heart of Texas Concert Band. 

Outside of her music career, Angela serves as the Vice President of the National Museum of Civil Defense, a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to preservation and education relating to the country’s Cold War Era Civil Defense program. Additionally, she enjoys painting and graphic design, and has had her illustrations published in several music education-focused children’s books. 

Angela received her Bachelor of Music Education degree from Florida State University, and her Master’s degree from the University of Central Florida, where she served as a Teaching Assistant. Her primary teachers were Randy Doo, Andrew West, and Jeffrey Keesecker.
