Governance and Oversight
Subject to the powers granted to the Executive Committee, the business and affairs of the Association are overseen by the Board of Directors. Board members support the work of the Association and its staff through fundraising, promotional activities, committee service, and other responsibilities as determined by the Executive Committee.
In addition to its broader leadership role, the Board of Directors holds the sole authority to adopt the annual budget and approve the auditor; approve amendments to the Charter and Bylaws; approve mergers, acquisitions, or the sale and distribution of assets; and fill vacancies, as well as elect or remove members of the Board, Executive Committee, and Officers.
The Associate Board is a standing committee of the Association created to identify, engage, and develop future leaders and supporters of the Space Coast Symphony Orchestra. At the discretion of the Board of Directors, Associate Board members may participate in Board meetings, but they do not hold voting privileges.
Regular meetings of the Board of Directors are held on the third Sunday of every other month at 7:00 PM Eastern via video conference. Meetings are open to interested guests, and invitations with login information are available upon request.
