Under the baton of Aaron Collins, the orchestra is joined by guest conductor Frederick Blanchard, part of Aaron’s ongoing commitment to promoting outstanding emerging conductors, fostering the next generation of artistic leaders.
The program transports audiences through some of the most beloved worlds in science fiction cinema. Highlights include the heroic energy of David Arnold’s Independence Day, the sweeping romance of John Barry’s Somewhere in Time, and the glowing warmth of James Horner’s Cocoon. Epic grandeur takes center stage with Jerry Goldsmith’s Star Trek: First Contact and the exhilarating Star Trek Symphonic Suite by Michael Giacchino, while the eerie mystery of Mark Snow’s The X-Files adds a haunting, atmospheric edge.
Audiences will also experience the sweeping beauty of Simon Franglen’s Avatar: The Way of Water—music from the highest-grossing film of all time—bringing a sense of motion, scale, and breathtaking grandeur to the evening.
Exploring the darker side of science fiction, the program includes powerful selections from James Horner’s Aliens and Elliot Goldenthal’s Adagio from Alien 3, adding intensity and emotional depth. Woven throughout the concert are iconic selections from Star Wars, showcasing many of John Williams’ most beloved themes, including the soaring Main Title, the playful Cantina Band, the dramatic Imperial March, the tender Luke and Leia, the high-energy Here They Come!, the joyful Parade of the Ewoks, and the lyrical beauty of Rey’s Theme.
Accompanied by stunning visuals projected on screen, Out of This World is more than a concert—it’s a fully immersive, cinematic experience that brings together music, film, and imagination in a powerful celebration of science fiction.
