Once Upon an Orchestra ~ The Woodwinds

The story of Pinocchio comes to life when your Space Coast Symphony Orchestra presents another installment of Once Upon an Orchestra in partnership with the Vero Beach Art Museum.  Designed for preschool and kindergarten aged children, the 45-minute story time will feature members of the woodwind family, including the flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, and french horn.. The entertaining musical score depicts characters and scenes from the Pinocchio story including Geppetto, Pinocchio, Harlequin, The Fox and the Cat, The Fairy Godmother, Candlewick, Toyland, the Whale, and more. Aaron will play the part of narrator and will introduce the scenes and describe how the music is used to portray the story.

Following this special performance,  join us for a chance to try out the instruments of the woodwind family, act out your favorite character from the story, and pose as a musician in our symphonic photo booth. In addition, children will have the opportunity to make their own instrument from recycled materials.
