ABOUT THE PROGRAM

The story of The Princess and the Pea comes to life when your Space Coast Symphony Orchestra presents another installment of Once Upon an Orchestra in partnership with the Vero Beach Art Museum.  Designed for preschool and kindergarten aged children, the 45-minute story time will feature members of the string family, including the violin, viola, and cello. The Princess and the Pea is a literary fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen. It is a story about a princess who is tested to become wife to a lonely prince. In this work, the tale is presented by a narrator, with the string quartet bringing the story to life in a musical way.  There are many features in this work that are sure to interest audiences of all ages. Different motifs are used to differentiate between characters and settings. This selection also features the use of props.  Aaron will play the part of narrator and will introduce the scenes and describe how the music is used to portray the story.

TICKET INFORMATION

Second Saturdays at the VBMA features FREE admission all day, plus a variety of cultural offerings. Complimentary programming such as performances, lectures, films, and related expressions of arts and humanities will continue throughout the afternoon. Food trucks will be on-site for guests looking to grab a bite before or after their visit.
