Your Space Coast Symphony Youth Orchestra presents its debut concert.    This exciting program will feature the Academy Orchestra under the direction of Carey Moorman, Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Samantha Felber, and Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of Mark Nelson.   The Philharmonic Orchestra opens up with one of the most exciting concert openers ever written, Festive Overture.   Dmitri Shostakovich’s work is brilliant and upbeat.    Also featured is Dvorák’s thrilling Ninth Symphony, “From the New World.” Written after Dvorák’s visit to America, his Symphony No. 9 is a captivating fusion of Czech and Austrian symphonic mastery combined with American inspired visions of Hiawatha and the African-American Spiritual. Celebrated since its debut, “From the New World” mixes broad, loving melodies and vigorous folk dance rhythms. It’s a work that amply justifies its status as one of the best loved symphonies of all.
