ABOUT THE ARTISTS

Christopher Maslow — Christopher Maslow is a Miami-based fine artist whose creative practice centers primarily around painting and sculpture. A former Los Angeles resident, Maslow graduated in 2003 from The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising with a degree in product development. He quickly grew into a notable clothing designer and produced for multiple labels in Southern California. A few years into his career as a fashion designer, Maslow found himself gravitating towards street art.   Subsequently, after many years of experimentation with multi-media, Maslow realized a greater calling to fine art. Since his transition onto canvas, Maslow has shown artwork in galleries across the United States and has experienced equal success in curation as well.   Maslow has been a resident artist at Viophilia since November 2013, and simultaneously runs a studio-gallery in his hometown of Melbourne, Florida. Mr. Maslow recently completed the Florida Tech mural in downtown Melbourne.

Yacu Malik–  Yacu Malik is a multidisciplinary fine artist and illustrator. He has a Bachelor’s degree in graphic design and specializes in custom logos and digital character creations. He has a passion and flare for personalized canvas work and is inspired to do custom portraits whether it is with a private sitting or with your own personal photographs. Yacu’s upbringing comes from being raised by a highly diverse and artistic family; also living between New York and Florida gave him quite the artistic edge. Yacu currently resides in Tampa and has showcased and sold his art in New York, Pennsylvania, Tampa and in Melbourne FL.

Elena Shokhina, Artistic Director, Brevard Ballet Academy — Elena graduated from the famed Vaganova Ballet Academy in St. Petersburg, Russia – considered by most to be the world’s premier ballet academy – following 8 years of rigorous training. As a ballerina she was a principal dancer with both St. Petersburg Ballet (Russia) and Nevada Ballet Theatre (USA). Elena was known for her incredible discipline, particularly on pointe, and for her vast repertoire including principal roles in Swan Lake, Giselle, Nutcracker, Peter Pan, Sleeping Beauty, Don Quixote, Dracula, Romeo and Juliet, La Bayadere, Paquita and many others.   After nine years of performing as a principal dancer all over the world with the St. Petersburg Ballet, she accepted an invitation in 2000 to perform with the Nevada Ballet Theatre where she became a principal dancer until she retired in 2008. Upon retirement she found her passion for teaching classical ballet. She opened Brevard Ballet Academy in 2014. It is a small prestigious school offering world-class ballet instruction to the greater Melbourne and central Florida area.

Panther Brunotte Artist Panther understands that her talent is not hers alone…but rather, she is a tool for something much larger, meaning to express and interject inspiration into the world. “I have great interest in promoting courage, hope and empowerment, throughout every culture and creed. I believe art is a perfect vehicle to help bring every society, as a whole, to a higher consciousness, and to vibrate on a higher, more peaceful level.”   With this goal, Panther sends her message in works created of acrylic, chalk, charcoal, Venetian clay, and powdered pigments upon individual plaster “Canvases”, resembling a rock. These “rocks” are hand crafted into shapes reminiscent of pieces of ancient ruins. Creating the perfect platform for subjects of great strength and beauty and destination. The result is an enthralling experience, as one feels the same thrill, excitement and understanding, of stumbling on an archaeological find.

Morgana Starr — Morgana has been following a healing path for most of her life. Not satisfied with the confines of traditional religion, in the 1990’s Morgana began a search to find deeper spiritually in order to enhance her relationship with the Divine. Morgana teaches Psychic Development Classes in the Cocoa Beach area of Florida.  She also offers personalized classes, sessions and readings via Skype and the Phone. She is internationally known for her work directly with Archangel Anael, her books, and group or private sessions. Her readings help clear negative blockages like anger & fear, leaving you feeling peace, hope and a new direction.   Morgana Starr is the author of “Angel Whispers”, A Journey into the World of the Earth’s Oldest Guardians book and “Angels Legacy”, Book One in the Battle for the Earth Series. Her writing credits also include publication in Branches and Horizons magazines. Morgana has several meditation CD’s, MP3’s and books readings one on one to help assist you on your spiritual path.

ABOUT THE SPACE COAST SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA— The SCSO is a lively and passionate Central Florida orchestra comprised of professional musicians, music educators and mentored amateurs of exceptional ability.  The Orchestra was formed by Conductor and Artistic Director Aaron T. Collins with a two-fold mission: to provide mentoring and performance opportunities for Florida’s finest young musicians as well as to provide professional concerts at genuinely affordable prices.  The ultimate goal of the organization is to help ensure the symphonic tradition for the enjoyment of future generations.

33-year old Aaron T. Collins is garnering recognition for his achievements.  LEAD Brevard named the ambitious Collins one of their “4 under 40” Young Professionals, the youngest-ever recipient of the honor. Space Coast Business magazine listed him as one of Brevard’s “100 Most Admired Businesspeople.” In 2016, Collins won the Richard A. Stark Award for cultural leadership from the Cultural Council of Indian River County.  Through his personal involvement with more than a dozen performing arts groups, pioneering reciprocal ad program and social media cross promotions, Collins has gained a reputation for generosity; championing other arts organizations throughout Central Florida for the cultural enrichment of the community.

The Space Coast Symphony Orchestra performs in several very comfortable venues in Brevard and Indian River counties, with advance general admission tickets priced at just $20.  School-aged children 18 years and under are admitted free of charge, as are college students with a valid ID.  In keeping with their mission, the symphony provides a unique Symphony for Everyone ticketing program, a “pay-what-you-can” option designed to provide substantially discounted admission to any Space Coast Symphony concert.

Relying on a non-traditional orchestra model and a slim budget, the Space Coast Symphony Orchestra is one of only 19 U.S. orchestras to perform year-round. In addition to maintaining the Space Coast Symphony JAZZ Orchestra and Space Coast Symphony Wind Orchestra, the non-profit organization provides numerous separate and free ensemble performances.
