Jackson Arthur is a freelance musician and teacher based in Orlando and South Florida. He received his musical training at the Eastman School of Music under the tutelage of James Thompson (former principle trumpet – Montreal, Atlanta), and continues his studies at the University of Miami with Craig Morris (former principle trumpet – San Francisco, Chicago). He has performed with several ensembles in Canada, New York, and Florida, including the Miami Symphony Orchestra, the Chinese Choral Society of Rochester, Sound ExChange Orchestra, the Brass Band of Central Florida, and the Space Coast Symphony Orchestra. Jackson’s current artistic pursuits involve working with numerous young composers from around the world, the goal of which is a massive contribution to trumpet music. As a result of this collaboration, ten new works for trumpet are planned to premier in Miami in 2016.
