Started my music studies in beginning band at Sea Park Elementary in Satellite Beach, FL and my first job out of school was in La Orquesta Sinfonica National de Ecuador.

Charles McGee started his studies in oboe 30 years ago in the fall of 1982 with Janet Rarick while living in Houston, TX. He received his BA in Oboe performance from Temple University’s Esther Boyer School of Music in 1993. In 1996 he received his MM in Oboe performance from Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music. His principal teachers include Louis Rosenblatt, Robert Atherholt and Janet Mascaro.
Mr. McGee has played in many orchestras located throughout the southeast including the Orlando Philharmonic, the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra, The Florida Orchestra, and the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra and served as principal and solo oboist of the Chamber Players of the Good Shepherd. Mr. McGee has served as an adjunct professor of oboe at the University of North Florida and Florida Community College of Jacksonville. He currently performs with the Space Coast Symphony Orchestra and the Space Coast Pops Orchestra of Melbourne, FL and is the co-founder of the Lakeside Chamber Players.
