A DAY WHEN #EVERYGIFTHELPS

For 16 years, it’s been your Space Coast Symphony’s mission to engage, educate, and enrich our community through high-quality, vibrant musical experiences. By supporting your SCSO on Giving Tuesday, you help us amplify music’s amazing power to transform lives in our incredible community.  #GivingTuesday is a global day of giving that takes place the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. It kicks off the charitable season when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving.

Your Space Coast Symphony Orchestra has become a leading arts organization in Florida, as one of the largest non-profit organizations in Brevard and Indian River Counties. Ticket sales revenue alone covers less than half the cost required for great symphonic performances and music education opportunities.

At the Space Coast Symphony Orchestra, we are in the midst of a jam-packed 15th Anniversary performing season — and counting our blessings for supporters like you.

When we began the SCSO, the goal was to provide our community with excellent musical experiences at a truly affordable price. We aspired to provide year-round performance opportunities for some of Florida’s finest musicians. And we wanted to mentor young talent and bolster the symphonic tradition for future generations.

So how are we doing? Well, let’s see…

  • In July, we presented The Rite of Spring, regarded as the greatest work of the 20th Century, with an orchestra of one hundred musicians.
  • We recently performed outdoor programs in Winter Garden and Windermere, expanding our reach into the Orlando area.
  • The 5th original program in our free family concert series, Musicians are Superheroes: Part II, was played to a packed house of kindergarteners and first graders.
  • We sold out shows for a fully-staged production of Stephen Sondheim’s A Little Night Music in Orlando, Brevard and Indian River Counties.
  • Since June, the orchestra has showcased new works by composers Kenneth Fuchs, Christopher Marshall, Mark Piszczek, and Kevin Scott in four World Premieres.
  • An April concert featured music by three of Aaron’s students, highlighting the young talent in our community.
  • We took the orchestra to AMC Theatres to present The Wild West in two sold-out performances.
  • We presented our annual side-by-side concert, joined by 50 exceptional youth musicians for the music of John Williams.
  • The orchestra performed two shows alongside the legendary Judy Collins.

Those are just a few highlights from this past year.  Help support music in your community by making a gift to the Space Coast Symphony Orchestra this Giving Tuesday! With a commitment to quality musicianship, music education for our youth, and a desire to grow our impact in the cities we love, a gift to the SCSO is an investment in our community. By choosing to give to the Space Coast Symphony you are advancing our mission to make music accessible to everyone. Give the gift of music this Giving Tuesday!

We thank you in advance for your support! May your holiday season be merry and bright!
