Lisa Waite is from Ormond Beach, Florida. She began her studies on bassoon at the age of 10 with Reno Fusani of Buffalo, New York, and later studied with Dr. Ashley Heintzen at Stetson University as a music scholarship recipient. In addition to playing with Space Coast Symphony, she is founding member of the Orlando-based professional woodwind quintet Opus 5, and Executive Director of Arts for Humanity, a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing musical interventions to the under-served. She is an active free-lancer and has performed with Florida Lakes Symphony, the Bach Festival Orchestra of Winter Park, Orlando Symphony, Brevard Symphony, Flagler Symphony, and the Orlando Philharmonic, as well as with various other groups throughout Central Florida, of which she is a member of Local 389. Lisa has a Doctorate in Pharmacy and practices as a community pharmacist with Publix in Volusia County. When she is not working in the pharmacy or pursuing her music endeavors, Lisa enjoys spending time with her husband Jonathan and their four neurotic cats.
