Joanne holds a degree in Oboe Performance from Western Michigan University. While living in Michigan she was a long time member of the Kalamazoo Symphony and the Kalamazoo Bach Festival, as well as an adjunct oboe teacher at Kalamazoo College. She has also performed with the Grand Rapids Symphony, The Battle Creek Symphony, the Southwest Michigan Symphony and the South Bend (IN) Symphony.

Her major oboe teachers were Donald Baker, Ralph Gomberg , and Robert Humiston.  She has also studied with Dan Stolper, Treva Womble and Robert Sorton.

Since moving to Florida, Joanne became of member of the Florida Lakes Symphony and the Walt Disney World Candlelight Orchestra, as well as the Space Coast Symphony. She has also played with the Orlando Philharmonic, the Winter Park Bach Festival, the Brevard Symphony and the Villages Philharmonic.

Joanne’s day job in Michigan was working as a registered dental hygienist. After moving to Florida, when not practicing and making oboe and English horn reeds, she spends her time making quilts, knitting and volunteering with Pet Rescue By Judy.
