Jazz at its finest, presented by your Space Coast Symphony Jazz Orchestra.   Hear music of the greats, like: Duke Ellington, Thelonious Monk, Count Basie, Arturo Sandoval, Miles Davis, George Gershwin and many more.  The concert will feature some of the best jazz musicians in Florida performing a wide variety of styles—Traditional New Orleans jazz, blues, swing, Ska, Funk, Blues, Pan-Caribbean salsa, boogaloo, Go-go, and more!   Highlights include Caravan, Dig, It Ain't Necessarily So, April in Paris, Advanced Funk, and many more exciting tunes!  Dancers, Joanne Collins and Kaitlyn Cahalen will perform alongside the jazz orchestra.

Artist Information


Frank Wosar holds a Masters degree in Music Education from the University of Central Florida and a Bachelors degree in Jazz Performance from the University of Miami. He played solo chair in the Grammy Award winning jazz band the CJB at UM all four years that he attended. He has been awarded the Down Beat Award for outstanding jazz solo four times and two times by the IAJE. Currently he is the adjunct Jazz Trombone Professor at Valencia College and freelances as a trombone player at many venues in town. He is also frequent sub for Disney’s Grand Floridian Society Orchestra and BB Kings Blues Club. Frank has had the privilege to have played with The Supremes, Hootie and the Blow Fish, John Michael Montgomery, Mark Anthony, Gloria Estafan, Willie Chirino, Ray Ruiz salsa Orchestra, Paul Ankia, Jim Belushi, Jim Widner Big Band, John Fedchock Big Band , Ed Calle Big Band, Arturo Sandavol, Duffy Jackson Big Band, Sam Rivers, KC and the Sunshine Band, Tommy Dorsey Orchestra (Buddy Morro), the Glenn Miller Orchestra and many more. He would like to acknowledge and thank the Ocala Jazz Society for the scholarship he received in 1998.

Joanne Collins is a multidisciplinary Dancer, Choreographer, and Teacher from New Zealand (N.Z).  Her early training was at the Dance Education Centre in Tauranga, New Zealand.  While there Joanne won many awards at various Ballet and Jazz competitions throughout N.Z, performed with Musical Theatre companies in The Merry Widow and Jesus Christ Superstar, and was a soloist and understudy for the lead role of Giselle with ballerina Lisa-Maree Cullum from Germany. Joanne also performed twice as a child with the Royal New Zealand Ballet in La Sylphide and as Clara in The Nutcracker.  She holds two awards from N.Z Prime Ministers - National Young Asthma Achiever, Rotary Young Achiever - won second place in the 1996 N.Z National Ballet Awards, and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Victorian College of the Arts in Melbourne, Australia, where she graduated with the award for Most Outstanding Classical Dancer.

Joanne has toured extensively as a Soloist, Dance Captain, and Aerialist with Royal Caribbean International Cruise Lines, with roles in Singing In The Rain, Gypsy, A Chorus Line, Miss Saigon, Will Roger’s Follies, All That Jazz, 42nd Street, Jump Jive and Swing, Vibeology, Piano Man, Rhythm and Rhyme, and Make Mine Broadway. Once back in Australia Joanne performed as a guest artist with Swing Patrol Melbourne and with them created the Showgirls Dream class series and founded The Foxy Follies Dance Troupe. She also performed at various events including movie premiers, sporting events, television broadcasts, art festivals and music videos, and taught Ballroom and Latin dance at Toucan Dance Studio.

Recently while in N.Z Joanne received her British Ballet Organization (B.B.O) Pre-Associate Teacher Diploma and became an Examiner for B.B.O Ballet, Tap, Jazz and Contemporary. She has Adjudicated dance competitions throughout N.Z for Ballet, Jazz and Contemporary. In 2014 alongside teaching at the Apollo Theatre School, Joanne was a senior Ballet, Lyrical, Tap, and Audition Technique tutor for The Apollo Theatre College full-time pre-professional diploma course, and was a guest tutor for Centre City Music Theatre’s annual Summer School 2016.

Joanne has performed and choreographed for The Dance Education Centre, The Apollo Theatre Company and The Human Agency including events such as Fight For Life, Queen of the Whole Universe, Skycity Casino New Year 2013, Skycity Casino 2014. She has toured New Zealand with The Glenn Miller Orchestra 2013, 2015 and with The One and Only Tommy Dorsey Orchestra 2014. She performed with Burning Man Productions in Gifted 2014, was a model and dancer for Sylvia Park Winter Fashion Show 2013 and Choreographer for the Sylvia Park Winter Fashion Show 2014.

Her acting experience includes dinner theatre performances with the Apollo Theatre Company, playing Fairy Godmother in Cinderella and Maid Marian in Robin Hood. Her television appearances include roles and extra/stunt work in Spartacus, Shortland Street, The Almighty Johnsons, and Golden.

Joanne is currently based in Orlando, Florida, where she is a full time Maintenance Choreographer at Walt Disney World, and is the Vice President and Choreographer for Long White Cloud Entertainment.

Kaitlyn Cahalen is an Oklahoma City University alumni with a Dance Performance degree. She has professionally danced in Los Angeles, New York City, and Orlando Florida. She has also worked for companies like Walt Disney World, Universal Studios, and New Balance to name a few.

She has taught dance in California and Florida and loves the art of dance and everything it brings to a performers' life. She always encourages performers to follow their dreams and never give up on what they love.
